Embassy of Switzerland in Pakistan: academic internship, diplomatic section

The Embassy’s Diplomatic Section is currently searching for a highly motivated and qualified candidate (m/f) who is eligible to work at the embassy os Switzerland in Islamabad as paid, full-time intern from 01 April 2022 for the duration of 6 months.

THE EMBASSY

The Embassy of Switzerland is the official Swiss representation in Pakistan and covers all matters concerning diplomatic relations between the two countries. Besides Pakistan, the Embassy in Islamabad also covers different regional political aspects.

INTERSHIP

The internship gives a good insight into the world of diplomacy and the work of a strategically important mid-sized Swiss Embassy. The intern will work closely with members of the Embassy on a variety of files mainly in the political. economic, scientific and cultural field.

TASK

  • Collect and carry out research for analyses
  • Prepare and write reports
  • Assist in the implementation of projects and organization of events
  • Represent the Embassy at meetings
  • Support in administrative activities

REQUIREMENTS

  • Swiss nationality
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree with excellent grades (no more than 12 months between graduation and start of internship)
  • Strong interest in international, particularly South Asian affairs
  • Aptitude to write short and concise analyses
  • Stress resistant and critical thinking skills as well as a sense or humor
  • Proficiency in German and English (written and spoken) as well as a strong command of French

The total duration of internships with the Federal Administration, Including this internship, must not exceed one year.
